NYC’s Central Park Canadian Invitational goes down this weekend. If you happen to be in New York, drop by the Lasker Rink and check out some wholesome expat Canuck hockey action:

Open to players of all levels, the spirit of this charity tournament focuses on participation rather than competition. In addition, it provides an opportunity to help those less fortunate as net proceeds are donated to the innovative non-profit youth program, Ice Hockey in Harlem.

This tournament is also intended to further the natural ties of friendship between Canadians and New Yorkers. Each year, we bring together teams from Canada and the US for a special weekend of social events, general camaraderie, and a truly unique hockey experience – the opportunity to play outdoors in one of the most beautiful city parks in the world. (Central Park Invitational)

The event runs from 8am-8pm Saturday Feb 16th and from 8am-1pm Sunday Feb 17th — see the events calendar for more info).
